So, Essfer's viv has started getting colder and I've adjusted the thermostat to compensate. The problem is that now the stat is at the highest setting and his warm end is only getting to 28C.

Currently the heatmat is outside underneath the viv but with the prospect of this getting cooler, would I be better off placing the mat inside the viv to keep him warmer?

N.B. This viv is only for while essfer is a youngling. As soon as he's big enough we're getting a bells & whistles wooden number.

i have a glass viv and have the heatmat inside, it would probably work cheaper on your purse too as it won't have to work quite as hard to get to temperature

28 is fine temp wise however placing it inside might be a better idea.

Digital thermometer probes to measure both ends. Probes are placed within the hides at the top of the bedding

What are you using to measure the tempreture? Give the stat a while to settle..
