fluffy had a bad shed about 3 weeks ago and I had to bathe him to get parts of his shed off, the other day I noticed a tiny black spot on his back (pin head sized), there was a bit of loose skin on it which came off when I touched it, is this dead skin? I've tried to get a pic of it but it's too small to show up ... any suggestions will be appreciated

it is like part of a scale, he hasn't shed again yet so it's still there ... i thought it was dead skin because when i touched it i noticed a bit of his last shed hadn't come off

Tiny black dot sounds like a mite/tick. If it just came off its probably dead skin, dont trust my judgement though. I wouldnt worry too much if snakey was acting ok and there werent any more black dots, maybe its a scrunched up bit of skin?
