As the title says, i just put a 18" Exo terra Repti Glo 2.0 uvb bulb in with my Corn Rex, the guy in the shop said i didn't need a guard as it wont get hot.
Just touched tube and it feels hot to me! should i put a guard on it?

You also don't need a UVB tube for the snake at all, I hope the rep shop didn't tell you that you did.
If you want a light in there so that you can see inside a bit clearer, then just go for little LED ones.

You still need a guard because potentially the snake could wrap around it and crush it thus damaging itself. Hot or not it will still cut the snake. |
