My male corn snake hasn't had any health problems ever, but two complete sheds ago his left eye had what looks like a small white spot in the middle. I thought he was going into another shed so I left him alone but after another shed it's still there and covering more of his eye. It looks like a normal blue-ing like before a shed and it doesn't seem to be affecting him at all, but I'm incredibly worried about my baby boy. |

Thanks for all the insight everyone. The outer portion of his eye is less cloudy today however the pupil is still clouded so I plan on taking him to a vet soon to get him checked out. |

I have a rubber thimble incase its needed for eyecaps, lucky not needed it, i hope it is just that and not anything serious |

it does look like a retained eye cap to me, however, if the cloudyness is purely in the pupil, then its internal, not an eyecap. I have a very effective method for removing eyecaps, but if you arent happy with a pin on a knife blade, its not worth it. |

there's a sticky on here about how to remove retained eyecaps but Viscotears is the safe product to use, or contact lense solution.
retained eyecaps usually have raggy bits of skin around the actual eye though
it could be corneal damage cased by an injury or abscess but tbh eye problems are best off looked at by a vet, in this case a specialist exotics vet |

You should still be able to find the eyecaps, even if shredded, it'll just take a bit of patience :P
I'd recommend taking him to an exotic vet personally, as if it is retained caps, they should be able to remove them :) |

Tried using a damp washcloth to aid in the process like it says on the care sheet, but his eye is still like that. |

He usually destroys the head section, leaving most of it in shreds even though it is still connected. |

Yeah, when you say complete sheds, did you check and double check both the eyecaps were on the shed? |

Could this be a retained eye cap? I don't see any evidence of old shed anywhere around his eye, but that's the only thing I could find in my research that this looks like. |
