thanks grant |

Posted - 27/03/2011 : 21:31:52 how frequently they shed depends on how much they are growing as youngsters they grow fastest and shedding monthly isn't unheard of as they get older the shed less often, every 3-4 months as fully grown adults |

Posted - 27/03/2011 : 20:05:00 Well done Buzz. Heh,heh the first shed is so stressful isn't it. Every snakes different shed wise. It could be anything from a month to 2 months, maybe more depending on the age and how fast the snake in question grows. |

But seriously, some snakes are completely the same when going through the shedding process, others get moody, turn down food, etc. I've got one that acts exactly like yours when he's shedding, but most of mine don't change.
My hognose on the other hand, when he sheds, is the moodiest little... |

Posted - 26/03/2011 : 21:16:59 i agree that all sounds perfectly normal behaviour and you've done exactly the right thing leaving him alone
have a read of the 'sticky topics' on shedding that are on the site but try not to worry yourself reading about what can go wrong, most corns shed in one piece with no problems, and even if they don't it's easily fixed |
