how long can a cornsnake go without eating before i should be worried?
mine has not eaten not for 8 weeks i keep trying him once a week but he keeps checking it then going back to his hide.
please help

thanks alot for the advise will look at getting some reptoboost for him he been out of his hide but not alot so ill leave him till he sheds and starts eating again |

One of my adult males hasn't eaten since 1st Jan. I just weigh him every couple of weeks. I was giving him a reptoboost bath once a week to keep him hydrated as I wasn't sure he had been out of his hide to drink but lately he has been moving between his hides so I know he could have drank if he wanted it. |

it could be a week, it could be a month, or longer...........
i'd try not handle him or disturb him and just leave him to it. weigh him now then monitor his weight every 2-4 weeks as it's difficult to tell visually if they've lost any weight until it's a significant amount they've lost.
if you're really concerned you could add some Reptoboost or Critical Care Formula to his water. |

ya i turn it off of a night am just getting a bit worried about the amount of time, apart from not eating he seems ok a bit aggressive as usually hes not bitey so am leaving him alone at the minute till he seems in a better mood. do you know how long he could be like this as it started beginning of feb? as hes not been like this before usually very calm and affectionate. |

that all sounds ok as he's an adult male and it's breeding season i'd put it down to that
i'm assuming the light is only on during the day though? |

hes 7yrs old his temp in his warm end is 83 and hes usuall a good feeder dont have any problems. iv got a heat mat in his warm end with a spot light on a stat. im desfrosting the mouse by letting it defrost at room temp till it is defrosted then put it in warm water before offering it to him, i usually feed him 1 large mouse every 2 weeks |

it's dependant on age, starting weight, lots of factors!
has he ever been a good feeder?
what are your set-up and temps like?
what do you use for a heat source and how do you control it?
how are you defrosting and heating the mouse?
i've had hatchies that haven't eaten for 3 months or so and i know adults that go a lot longer |

How old is he. Its that time of year when males want to mate an go off there food anyway. |
