Hi
Nekko is about 6 months old, 40 cm long and in a starter tank. Im just wondering as hes a growing little man, when he is rubbin his nose over every inch of his tank is he looking for food? at the min he eats 1 pinky every 5 days. He only ever rubs his nose around after ive put him back when hes been out or on a night.

If he hasn't been in the tank very long its likely he isn't hunting or any reflection on what he is been fed, he's looking for an escape route or just exploring, they use their tongue and eyes to hunt, they use their head to test things out.

Thank you i will try him and see what he does. Maybe 2 small pinkys because when i put in a bigger one he wont entertain it.

He may well be hunting for food, but this is just natural behaviour and not necesarilly a sign that you should be feeding him more. Although at 6 months old it may be that 1 pinky is on the small side.

It is usually recommended that you should feed a prey item around 1 - 1.5x the girth of the snake at its thickest point.
