Posted - 15/01/2011 : 13:02:37 hi ppl. i have a 5 month old corn and it got out off its tank last nite cos i hadnt closed the tank right. i have just found it n dont no how long it thas been out for.
it feels cold to hold. he is back in his tank no but im a bit worried. any tips?? |

Posted - 15/01/2011 : 15:06:14 A corn snake should always be cold to touch, initially. You're skin temp is around 34 deg c, and the snake will be cooler at 30 deg, so you'll feel the difference. They do warm in your hands hence the 'initially'. |

Posted - 15/01/2011 : 14:28:13 they quite often feel cold to touch, even when they are quite warm. leave him in his viv, let him bask etc. if he's still moving around and flicking his toungue he's probably ok. they become lathargic (slow moving, sleepy) when they are cold. give him the opportunity to warm up a bit and he should be ok! DONT LEAVE THE VIV OPEN AGAIN lol! bet that freaked you out, lucky you found him! where'd he go? |
