Hi guys
We are relatively new to snake keeping, having inherited 2 corns from my nephew (he's discovered bikes, booze and birds. Snakes are just not cool enough any more). We have a female about 3 years old, 60'' long and just over 2lb in weight. The male is about 2 years old, 48'' long and around 1lb 3oz.
We had to adjust their feeding regime as my nephew was giving them both 2 or 3 fuzzies a week in one sitting, the male being reluctant to feed most of the time. We changed to one item each every 7 to 10 days, gradually increasing the size as they grew. Currently the boy is on medium mice and the girl on large or monster. The boy now feeds a lot better and even strikes some times. The girl has never been a problem.
The current problem, and the reason for joining this forum, is that the girl has stopped feeding. Her last meal was over 4 weeks ago. She has also been very restless and prowls the tank a lot more than usual. We thought she might be with child (or more likely children) so supplied a nesting box, kept the humidity a bit higher and tried her on fuzzies (which he ate later on). She shows no sign of a swelling rear end or stretched skin and, as I type this, she is draped over a piece of bark basking under the heat lamp, which she has never done before.
Any ideas would be most appreciated.

OK just looked up the stages of snake reproduction PMSL. I told you my knowledge of the technical terms wasn't the best. Will go away, have a read and come back later. |

Thats the word I was thinking of, was on the tip of my tongue too. Gravid. I have heard that puts them off eating. You may be able to confirm this but doesn't the presence of a male make them (forgive lack of technical terminology) become gravid around the breeding season? |

Its generally the male that goes off the food for the impending breeding season. I wouldn't raise the humidity too much as it wont be good for them.
If she is gravid this may put her off her food as there wouldn't be a lot of space for the eggs and the food. |

BREEDING SEASON!
Snakes stop eating when they wanna be loving. As above if they are in the same exclosure seperate (if its not already too late) or you'll have snake babies to deal with soon. |

Hiya and welcome.
I'm pretty new to corns myself so will leave this for others to answer but I am guesing they are housed together?
