Hi all. Noticed yesterday that Saracen has a thickening of his tail either side of his vent, like he has a blockage or something. The photo makes it look like it's one side but it's the same on the other side too, not at all massive but definitely unusual for him.

He's poo-ed several times this week and seems happy enough to be handled. I gave it a gentle rub tonight and he didn't flinch or give any indication it was hurting him and he's out looking at me at the moment apparently searching for food. Question is, should I feed him tomorrow as usual or wait until the bump is gone and is it anything to worry about?

Oh man, he's going to hate me for that. He's already an agressive feeder - he'll be eating my arm off now.

I'd give him one medium every 2 weeks, it certainly won't do him any harm.

Oh no, have I made him fat. I've made him in my own image the poor boy. Right, it's back to one mouse a week and the stairs then, poor bab. My husband's worried I'm going to hide his bag of chocolate and make him do exercise now too.

That is my opinion as well now, with the extra photos it's easy to see he's quite a rotund lad.

Hi guys and thanks for the replies. Here are some hopefully better photos. It's not really much of a lump, more a mis-shaping on both sides but certainly something that hasn't always been there. It's a bit more obvious in the flesh - even my husband noticed it. I've only noticed it this week but I haven't had much time with my snakes the last couple of weeks as I've been caring full time for my mum after an accident.

Saracen is 396g, 41.5 inches. He was on one large mouse but they haven't been very big lately so he's currently on two large mediums or two small large (if you know what I mean) every 7 days. He's been on them since 9 November.

It looks like a fatty deposit- how long is he and how much does he weigh? A full body shot would be good too.

If you can try to get a couple more photos as well from a couple different angles would be good.

On my machine from that pic it's hard to see any sort of lump.
