Posted - 30/12/2010 : 12:32:09 if the mouse was particularly large thats not THAT irregular lee.
i would drop down to a medium mouse (he could always have 2) and try once a week in the evening (make the lighting seem like evening too) i wouldnt start to panic just yet. (ps if u have your own questions go to "all forums" folder [top left] and look for the section most suitable for your problem/question/comment and enter there then click "new thread" and ask away [unless of course someone else is asking a similar question]) hope that all helps! |

Posted - 06/12/2010 : 20:40:05 I would (just my opinion) do the following;
*Ditch the UV light, its not required and may be stressing the snake out.
*Drop your stat temperature to 28 degrees (30 is the their max temp but I find 28 more preferencial)
*Dont know how your aquarium is converted but just to try it out, cover three of the sides completely with newspaper and even partially cover the other side leave about a third at the bottom exposed so natural light can get in and if anything moves near the tank it wont appear as if its looming over.
*Put in as much cover as possible into the tank, vines, bushes etc cut lots of toilet roll tubes in half lengthways and just scatter them to provide loads of places to hide and move about without been seen.
Just suggestions and something you may have already done, I dont know. |

Posted - 06/12/2010 : 20:19:48 there are a few more things to try, have a look through this sticky will give you some ideas
http://www.thecornsnake.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3720
would also suggest taking out the UV light it is not necessary, also i believe the UV bulb flickers beyond the human range but may bother the snake (on that im not sure though)

Corns are crepescular not nocturnal, meaning they are active at dawn and dusk
