Posted - 03/11/2010 : 23:00:55 I had Peanut out tonight while I was cleaning him out and i noticed he had a thin piece of aspen stuck in his vent. I let him go through my hands to see if I could tease it out but it seems to be pretty well stuck. So I was wondering, should I take him to the vet or should I wait and see if he manages to get it out when he next poos. He was fed on Sun so it shouldn't be too long but I was worried he might get an infection if left. |

Posted - 04/11/2010 : 18:33:54 Thanks guys. Gave him a bath this morning and let him have a bit of a soak. He pooped in the water but the bit of aspen still didn't come out. I caught hold of it a couple of times while he was soaking and tried to pull it out but it was well stuck. Then when I had him out on a towel to dry him I had another go and it slid out. There must have been about 1cm of it stuck inside but at least it's out now. I just hope there hasn't been any left behind inside him. |

Posted - 04/11/2010 : 07:24:49 as aspen is so dry it could have got quite stuck, i'd go for the bath option first, then if it's not removed by running through a damp flannel/towel then the soak first should make it easier to remove with tweezers. |

Posted - 03/11/2010 : 23:45:48 if i was you i would get some tweezers and grab hold of it, i doubt its gonna be stuck to anything and will most likely come out with a bit of help. If it seems like its stuck, then give him a warm bath and have another go. Just be gentle and all will be fine. |
