Posted - 17/10/2010 : 19:38:29 Hi,
I have two corns a Carolina and an Anerythristic. The Carolina is doing fantastic she is growing and developing very well.
The problem is with the Anerythristic. She is half the size of the Carolina and although she is eating regularly she is pooping alot. She seems to take a pinky and then there is poop in her viv almost everyday.
I was wondering if anyone could advise. Like I said she is drinking (not too much or too little) she is also eating and climbing. In other words she is acting very much like a healthy snake should be apart from her very small mass and the continuous pooping.
I have read up on parasites and I am hoping that this is not the case. Whilst she is taking the food I wasn't too worried now I have had her a few months and the condition still hasn't gone I am getting worried.
If I could get some advice it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you |

Posted - 21/10/2010 : 10:24:23 doesn't sound like she's over fed that could be a reason for so much poop but trying a small fuzzy instead might help as there will be more, beneficial nutrients and less fat content Reptoboost, which is a probiotic, added to the water might also help settle her tum |

Posted - 21/10/2010 : 08:23:12 Hi,
I am currently feeding her roughly to the The Munson Plan she is at 18 grams and I am feeding her double pinkies every 7 days. She is eating them with ease.
I personally think that genetically she is just a small snake I have seen some snakes that are half their expected size compared to their age.
Also both snakes are kept seperate to avoid any cross contamination also just because I dont like the idea of cohabitation too much.
Thanks

Posted - 20/10/2010 : 13:55:45 i wouldn't be overly concerned.................
how much are you feeding her compared to her size? if you are worried a faecal sample can be taken into your vets for parasite analysis |

Posted - 17/10/2010 : 22:16:48 Sounds like she has some sort of internal problem but I'm no expert! If she belonged to me I'd feel more reassured if the vet tested for any parasitic infestations. I'm assuming that the snakes are kept seperately and their husbandry is the same. Have you checked her weight to see if she is gaining at all? |
