I'd like to know what you make of this, and if you could tell me wether or not it is normal.

I've had a corn snake for 5 years or so, the other day I went to feed him as usual and he was laying belly up in his viverium, motionless. I touched him but he was cold and didn't respond. I honestly thought he was dead and was on the verge of asking my dad to bury him.
It was pretty upsetting so I left the house, my dad rang me an hour later and told me that my snake was absolutely fine and acting normal.

What could have happened to my snake to make to seem/act dead?
Is this something that cornsnakes usually do?

Any feedback would be really helpful.
Many thanks x

As Kehhlyr said , i think it would be safter to see a vet and know why it was laying on its belly i do think its strange it did that .

Has there been ANY other changes recently?
Have you had the snake from a hatchie or was it a few years old and well established already?
Can you give us a breakdown of all the times he's been handled/bathed in the past few days as well.

Plus as much info about his husbandry as possible.

Unfortunately it can be hard to diagnose some stuff sometimes so your best course of action may well still be a vet visit, but if you can get that info could be useful, cheers.
