Posted - 11/06/2010 : 20:51:50 i always used disinfectant like dettol etc to clean out my reptiles vivarium, obviously diluted with a bit of water. however i checked the ingredients today and it said CONTAINS PINE OIL!!! and i looked at the bottle of cheap disinfectant that my mum uses for her kitchen and that said the same thing. i read that pine oil can kill reptiles, but i been using it since i got my first reptile in 2007???? i know theres proper f10 reptile disinfectants out there but would they still contain pine oil??? some thoughts on this??? |

We buy sterilizing fluid or tablets that are used for babies bottles and dilute that to about 1 tablet per bucket full of water or 2-3 tablets in a bath full (if I'm cleaning loads out at same time).
I wouldn't use Dettol though |

I wouldn't be worrying about the pine oil, more so the amount of harmful chemicals in dettol to your snaks... |
