it is only a very rough guide but its not about the length of the tail but how it tapers.
A long tepering tail would be a male and a shorter stumpier tail would be a female. |

Well if the tail is a way of telling my adult male is a female and my adult female is a male and I know for definite what gender they are... I think a lot of it also depends on the weight of the snake for the whole tail thing. |

The tail does take a while to taper but it certainly isn't a full proof way of telling. |
