We just bought a female Amel corn that looks totally different to our male Amel so wondered what morph she could be, or what morph our male could be! If anyone could help us it'd be appreciated when they are old enough we are going to breed them and want to know what kind of morphs the babies could be

I have no idea we bought her from a reptile shop and he didnt say what the parents where

het = only carrying 1 copy of a morph gene - 2 copies are needed to be able to see it with 99% of cornsnake morphs, one from each parent.

Do you know what morphs the parents are?

She does have a lot more yellow/brown in her than our male, he's a lot more red/pink with a small yellowy dots down his back

Its definitely an Amel, but if there's Caramel in there too then it becomes a Butter, it may just be your picture, but it does have a bit of a Butter look about it.

haha oh dear

we was definately told she was Amel and we know they come in different shades we'd just not seen one like herand the markings on her belly are different too it's like pink and white patches whereas our males is all pale pink
eeji Posted - 21/11/2009 : 20:20:29
amel
gingerpony Posted - 21/11/2009 : 20:08:35
it could be a pale amel as there's quite a lot of variation within each particular morph...........

or possibly a baby butter.............but i have a small cr@ppy old CRT monitor
reptiledanny Posted - 21/11/2009 : 19:12:23
it definatly looks like an amel. try going on iansvivarium.com and go on corn snake morphs. an amel is basicaly a corn snake with no black pigment in them. they come in different shades. some can be really light and others can be quite dark
