Thanks ill have a look. Im keeping back the anery and a snow( just order a snow stripe too lol) so woll see what happens in the future. Just about to put up another post about my butter maybe you could help with that one too lol

Good luck Nath, you could always keep a few back to see how they grow-that way if you do this pairing again you'll have an idea of what they will look like, and can show folks pics/older snakes.
Personally I like the one in the 3rd pic with the head pointing up-have you noticed the pattern on the head looks a bit like the mask from the film 'Scream' ?
Try looking at the post about "Masque new gene on the block"....
Maybe you have a bit of the Masque gene at play there?
Cracking little bunch of hatchlings you have there too

Here's one for you to try then nath: cut and paste oh I don't know at least 50-60 different Amel photos onto a page then look at them.
The variation from one hatch/clutch to another is VAST-or just go to Google images and type in Amel corn snake-same effect.
They will all be amels-some are selectively bred to be 'Sunglow' or 'Fluro Orange' or 'Reverse Okeetee'.

Ok but from what ive seen online a hypo amel and an amel are visualy are different morph same as a coral and a snow
smart bunny Posted - 05/09/2013 : 20:53:31
Not even then - the only way to know for certain is to breed as an adult to a known hypo to see if all the offspring are hypo... and even then the original snake could still just be het for hypo and not actually hypo itself! Het means heterozygous, ie one of the gene pair is hypo so the snake is het hypo. Homo means homozygous which means both of the gene pair are hypo so the snake is hypo.

So i wont know if its a hypo amel or amel until adult then ?

They look diferent on the ians vivarium page the amels saddles are a lot brighter and the hypos seem to fade toward the tail. Done A little more digging and my male amel is het anery poss het hypo.if they are hypo amel or coral hatchlings how long before you can tell the difference ?
eeji Posted - 04/09/2013 : 22:26:14
amel and hypo amel look exactly the same, hypo reduces black but amel totally removes it so you won't see the effect of hypo
nath86 Posted - 04/09/2013 : 21:14:58
Male is an amel het hypo het anery
Female is a hypo het anery het amel
Dont mean to sound stupid but what does homo hypo mean ?
Here is the link for my snake on corn calc.
http://www.corncalc.com/Generate
The reason i was unsure what the poss hypo amels are is the body/ background coulor ispink link the snows the the first part of the patern i.e head neck area is reddy orange like an amel
Edit ; just looked on ians vivarium and they look identicle to the hypo amel hatchling pic on there

Coral snows look visually identical to snows - the only way you can be certain they are coral snows is if both parents are homo hypo (not just het), which they obviously are not from the others which have been produced. Same with hypo amels. You would only be able to sell them as snows 'possible' corals or possible het, but as Scaly says knowing whether the parents are a hypo plus a het hypo etc would help. The 'not sure' is a normal (can see the orange tinges starting definitely not anery/ghost), and the last one is an anery.

Might be easier if you told us what mum and dad were :)
