...Identifying my 6 year old corn snakes morph.

I've always believed and been told that she is a Carolina but after having someone who keeps and breeds corn snakes look at her he says he thinks she is a cross.

I have picture of everything, even close ups of her scales to show how speckled the colour is.

Full Snake.

Underbelly/Vent.

Head.

And the close up's to show the speckling.

Is she just a lightly coloured Carolina or something else?

Right, OK.

Thanks.

Tis a Hypo, no need to complicate it. Those other morphs aren't actually very widespread in the UK yet.
Georgina Posted - 03/06/2012 : 16:38:40
the pics are guides, my normals are completley different, lightning is bright red and midnight is dark brown x
AcidicAngel Posted - 03/06/2012 : 16:35:53
Ah, I did wonder whether eeji was just supporting them or actually owned...

The only thing that gets me about the hypo is the colour looks way too vibrant...

Also her patterning doesn't start with the darker colour with small circles in like the hypo does, it just goes straight into saddles...
Georgina Posted - 03/06/2012 : 16:22:57
she is defo 1oo percent hypo as eeji said :)

eeji is ians vivarium x
AcidicAngel Posted - 03/06/2012 : 16:19:06
Sorry *Hypo, Buf or Orange.
AcidicAngel Posted - 03/06/2012 : 16:12:32
OK. A better picture of her above and belly.
Above.

Belly.

Some possibilities according to Ians Viavarium.
Strawberry.

Hypo.

Buf.

Diffused Kastanie.

Hypo Kastanie.

Orange(Buf x Amelanistic)

I'll stick with Hypo or Orange for now but the hatchling for Hypo looks way too dark compared to what she looked like and the background looks way too light...
eeji Posted - 03/06/2012 : 13:04:36
strawberry looks pretty much identical to hypo without looking under a microscope, although I don't know how widespread it is in the UK just yet.
AcidicAngel Posted - 03/06/2012 : 11:59:32
Not sure, don't think so but looking at the strawberry and the Hypo, she resembles Strawberry more as the background on the hypo is way too bright and orange... Plus she wasn't as dark as the Hypo hatchie when she herself was a hatchie...

I'll still say Hypo but now you've opened my eyes to the other possibilities...

Could she be strawberry? iansvivarium.com/morphs/species/elaphe_guttata/strawberry/

If eeji says its a hypo then it is a hypo, question answered :)

True, all right so Hypo?

Agreed?

All good, it's just nice to know what morph you've got :)

The hypo okeetee has practically no black on it like her... That's why I was saying it's least likely but it looks sightly like her.
QueenVic Posted - 02/06/2012 : 15:48:36
okeetee is a selectively bred normal. It just means that there are thick black borders around the saddle marks, so I wouldnt say she was okeetee.

Just a very pretty hypo :)
AcidicAngel Posted - 02/06/2012 : 15:30:08
OK, thank you. Just looking at Ians Vivarium Corn Snake morphs and she looks like either a Hypo(Most Likely) or a Hypo Okeetee(Least Likely)

Hypo Okeetee.

the belly is screaming HYPO!!! at me :)
Georgina Posted - 02/06/2012 : 15:09:57
She is a hypo, which is caroline but with less black. But the morph is hypo xx
AcidicAngel Posted - 02/06/2012 : 15:05:29
So Normal/Carolina or Hypo? I'm confused...
QueenVic Posted - 02/06/2012 : 14:36:29
Ah, hypo.
I do like hypos, but im no good at identifying them lol!

I'd go with what Eeji says :)
