in a response to a post on this thread: http://www.thecornsnake.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=17603 by Ailsa I thought I'd make a new post to reply rather than face the wrath of the mods for posting c**p on someone elses classified ad.

Pied sided bloodred is relatively new so there is currently more demand than there is supply hence the high price (simple economics).

The prices vary greatly according to how much white is present, more means a higher price.

eg:

this low expression.....

will fetch far less than this high expression....

so not quite gold plated, just a high demand for something different and still quite rare.

ok, going to get myself a bloodred and some tippex...
HERICUS Posted - 28/06/2011 : 12:33:29
so a high expression in a snake is rarer than a low so the costs would be alot higher!?

you are correct, you answered your own question the amount of white showing on the sides

I know don't worry about it, no explanation needed

What Eeji said, some folks just have no sense of humour. Think most saw it for what it was though.

Thanks, it genuinely wasnt meant in any bad way, i just joke around a lot! i still feel bad now as it has been used as ammo in one of her rants!

Note taken! I sincerely appologise if my light hearted joke was taken in the wrong context.

It's simple really, supply and demand.
It's like, diamonds cost a lot, because they are rare. Some diamond are not as clear/pretty as others, so are worth less, whilst other are crystal clear and finely cut, a higher quality, so are worth more than the lesser quality ones.
And, if diamonds become more widely and easily avalaible, they'd be worth less, as there are much more of them.
Pop snake morphs in where appropiate and bingo!

I certainly felt that commont was innapropiate!

They are beautiful. And the gold plated comment was originally mine and not meant in an attack but in a light hearted joke as most normal people would take it! just someone has twisted it into an attack on yet another person unfortunately. :o( my comment wasnt meant in anyway melicious.
