Following on from FiestaSTLou's thread about his snow corn I have found a het that puzzled me.
I was looking around for a possible future mate for Alice and was looking on the hiss n hers site. On here it is advertising Utterley and Butterly as Amels het butter stripes. How can they be het for butter if they are Amels? Surely they would just be het caramel stripe. http://www.hissnhers.co.uk/6.html
Am I just reading it wrong with my tired eyes as I know they are pretty well respected

No, an amel het anery is not het for snow, its het for anery, likewise, anery het amel is het amel, not het snow.
People use the hets to show what they can make, but its technically wrong.
Properly, het for snow is a normal het amel and anery.

it annoys me when people use combination names as hets

it gives people false hopes especially if the buyer is new to morphs and is looking for foundation animals for breeding projects - it is totally impossible for a corn to be het butter, because there isn't a gene called butter but people who don't quite understand how it works would be expecting their het butter to work as a single gene

Yes, however, some people like to use the het to say what could be made, like snows, an amel het anery is exactly that, however its also called het for snow because that's what it could make.
A true het snow is normal het amel and anery.

No, you're right, het Caramel stripe would be more accurate.
