Normal or hypo?

I'm a bit of a purple fan (my wedding dress is going to be purple ) and next on my list of morphs is a lavender corn. Which morph d'you reckon will give me a good purpley snake? And I think females tend to be more purple than the males from what I read on Ian's Viv; is this true?

(I know they're not *PURPLE*, more kind of lilacy-grey)

(And yes, in keeping with the Harry Potter theme she'll be called Lavender.)

That's not bad I guess? Were they really purple?

The hypo plasmas were well over £150 - I can't really afford that! Can't REALLY afford much over £50 at the moment...stupid saving up for a wedding. Whose idea was it to get married?

Oh yeah...mine. Doh!

if you wanted a price this is a good place to start :)

I've already been in contact but they're out of my price range for now

I think I might go for a hypo lavender...I've got my name down on a couple of no-obligation lists now. Thanks for the help and I'll be sure to let you know when little Lavender arrives

its an extremely amazingly brilliant example of a plasma - unfortunately they don't all get this bright :(

inkiepixie the snake you want is a hypo plasma. its a combo of hypoamelanistic, lavender and bloodred. they lose all patters they have when they are youn and end up being bright purple.

below is a pic of a hatchling one, i stole it from ians vivarium.

Hehe I have been wondering this myself :p I think the hypo lav is the most girly coloured snake you could possibly get :p
eeji Posted - 17/06/2010 : 18:39:31
the purplest i think would be a male lavender, the females tend to have less colour. If you want lilacy purple and pink then a male hypo lavender.
Theres no guarantees that any lav won't end up pale grey so if you can find someone who can show you both parents (if they are lavenders) or if they have any grown on from previous years all the better.
HannahB Posted - 17/06/2010 : 18:25:57
get one of each
inkiepixie Posted - 17/06/2010 : 12:59:55
Lavender bloodred sounds expensive ;)

I think I might be going for the hypo lavender. It's just so...yeah, pretty!

They are pretty much of a muchness really, hypo lavenders are very pretty, or you could try and find a lavender bloodred.
