For some reason the name doesnt surprise me and neither would I be surprised if the next pic we see of her has little patches of pink glitter nail varnish over her polyfilla !! So you Amanda!

It is wonderful hearing how happy you are....you are making me smile just reading this - so thank you.

Would love a pic of her in the bath....never knew you bathed tortoises, but then I know nothing about them !!

xxx

Are you allowed to give them buttercups? I'm sure I read they were toxic to tortoises

Dont think so- Ive read that rule of thumb- if it grows from a bulb- dont feed it to your tortoise!!

Bettie has been ID'd now and I pretty sure that she is a Testudo hermanni boettgeri- Eastern Hermanns tortoise

I gave her a nice long bath today and she Loved it!

*Happy Sigh*

I dunno if it affects their stream lining and waterproofing?

You can I beleive, I don't think it's right though, unless it's necesseray like Phil said, for sealing the tort. I've also read someone painting a chillean rose tarantula that had been painted by blue poster paints.

Absolutely!

I can get her over my cross country jumps at the yard!
I am sure that she could easily clock 5 foot!! (May need to build bigger jumps though!!)
I will let you know when i enter her to the race!!

Shell repairs look ok, and there's no damage to the plastron so I wouldn't of thought it'd ever give him issues.
It probably is polyfilla that was used to repair the shell, it's the best stuff to use. I used it in the past, then put some dark nail varnish over the top of it so seal it.

Torts are excellent, and congrats on getting yours.

Thank-You!

The repairs were done 5 years ago- she was found by the police walking th streets on her own :(
I was told that it is polyfilla- ooo Nailvarnish... That COULD mean Pink eh!!

I simply cannot spend enough time with her!

I was REALLY worried yesterday when we collected her that she was going to turn anorexic BUT she has decimated a patch of grass/dandy lion leaves in the garden this afternoon!!

*BEAMS WITH HAPPINESS!!!*
