Not many snakes this holiday :(
But Ive included the lizard that watched us swim in the pool- the spider who tried to share my shower- the slightly ticked off elephant -the lizard I stalked on top of Table Mountain and the tortoise who wanted me for lunch!!

I cant remember what all the snakes are- apart from the Corn, the Puff Adder and the Black Mamba!!

Thanks for Looking!

Must admit to not being surprised....but being surprisingly relieved ! Although I wont tell my OH, would hate to ruin his big adventure story! My brave snake OH (or stupid snake OH )

Now I just have to worry about the next time I let him out alone.....

1st thing that came to mind was an African House snake, its the eyeesss.

These pics have already been cropped and zoomed....all I could do is enlarge them from the medium size I have them in photobucket at the moment....would that help? Which pic in particular?

Would love to know what it really is.

Thats because he Probably heard

"Pick up lots of snakes and play with them and take photos of them- have a good look in its mouth to see if it IS a black mamba- also check it for mites/dehydration and if possible give it a nice warm bath and a good feed"

Now- Are you SURE you didnt say that...?
:P

Unfortunately I was left at home for this adventure (as I am for most ) - was his 40th birthday present....he and 3 mates climbed Kili and then did a safari.

I still cant get over the fact that the last thing I said to him was 'dont pick up any snakes!' and did he listen.......

My OH went to climb Kilimanjaro and did a safari afterwards. Literally the last thing I said to him as I said goodbye was 'Dont pick up any snakes!!' This was the result.....unsurprisingly.

When they went to pack away their tents after camping, when he lifted up the ground sheet he found this.....

All the porters wanted to kill it immediately but being my OH he did this instead....

Now to give you an idea of its real size

Now he is convinced it was a baby black mamba and wont accept any argument that it isnt - he just wishes he had pried open its mouth to check !!! You can imagine my reaction when he got home !!!

So.......could it be a baby black mamba? Or can you really not tell without opening their mouths?

OMG!
Firstly: Mount K- THATS AWESOME!
Secondly- CUTE SNAKE!!

I wouldnt know to be honest- could have been a baby one- ?
I dont think that I would stop and check its mouth to be fair!
Matty is REALLY good at the "What snake is this game" !!
xXx

EDIT: Dont they look pretty similar to mole snakes?
