I got Doug a girlfriend, his tank looked a bit empty. She's tiny, half his size. I was told she was about 6 months old, so slightly too young for breeding, and so far Doug hasn't shown any interest which is good, I want her to be able to settle without being harassed.

Here's Doug. For a green anole he spends a lot of time brown, and I can't fathom why. He's got warmth, light, hiding places, food...everything he needs. I've come to the conclusion he just doesn;t like me, because on the rare times I've looked in and he's green, he's immediately gone brown again when he sees me.

Here he is sleeping. I took quite a few pics and didn't even notice the female on the next leaf, you can see her tail going across him.

And here's my little female ^_^ first decent picture I've been able to get of her, she's very small, very fast and very shy. She seems perfectly at home in the viv, most of the time she's green.

Still haven't come up with a name for her, Annie seems a bit cliche o.O

Doug is just fine which is what's so perplexing for me. I put her death down to something environmental and gave the tank an overhaul, changing the substrate, moving the plants and re positioning the heating but Doug is still the same as ever, he's never shown any sign of sickness. I can only assume then that Jade was stressed out too much and it just took it's time getting to her :(

Sad news everyone :( Jade didn't survive very long. She died of unknown causes, she was literally fine one day and dead the next. Very sad, the tank looks horribly empty again with only one lizard in it.

She seems to be just fine, gone back to hiding in the fern again XD

I've gone for Jade, short and sweet and seems to suit her. Going to have to watch her, I was investigating the tank last night because I hadn't seen her in a few days (not unusual, big tank, lots of foliage, tiny lizard) but I couldn't find her anywhere...then i went to take the lid off and found her on the outside of the tank, where the cable holes are! She obviously squeezed out, didnt like it, and tried to squish herself back in the groove but couldn't. Needless to say the gaps are now sealed up :/
