Looks like a Wall Lizard to me (Pudarcis Muralis). They're quite common in France, often seen on sunny walls or rocks. They eat insects and spiders and can grow 10-15cm long including tail.

Sorry, can't help much there, but they are nice photos :-) I love the close up of the little face poking out.
