Well, new to us, but not to the forum. We collected little Caleb from Hissyfit this morning (although I think the kids want to think up a new name, they were really excited when we told them last night we were getting ANOTHER snake). His viv is amazing, really well done out, makes me ashamed of Hermes' setup lol! (Hermes will be getting a new viv but will have to wait until I receive it for Christmas )

It was lovely to meet you Hissyfit, and I promise we'll give regular updates for you and your daughter

He's certainly inquisitive, spent the whole journey home trying to escape his tub. Obviously we had to have a little cuddle and piccy session before putting him away to settle in... he found hubby's watch and curled around it and that was it, couldn't get him off again lol.

Thanks guys - yes to both mj and Hissy, they are very iridescent, and constantly look different colours - sometimes with Hermes you can see the patterning he has down his sides, other times he looks just 1 colour.

Hissy, it's obvious no expense was spared to give him a lovely home :)

gorgeous wee chapie-looks almost iridescent like a rainbow boa

Lovely to meet you too smart bunny, and I'm sure little Caleb will have a fantastic home with you

You've managed to get some really gorgeous photos of him (much better than I ever did), and his colouring has always surprised me, sometimes he looks brown, sometimes green and even a purple tone at times.

Thanks for the compliment on his viv. I try to make each viv special, and do spend a lot of time and money on them, so it's nice to hear that it does look good to people other than myself

I hope you enjoy him. He's a lovely looking little guy and I'm sure he'll be happy with you

Thanks all :D

His markings are quite different to Hermes': much broader stripe on his head and no speckles on his chin... I will have to get Hermes out (he's digesting currently :P) and get some pics to compare the two. I'm thinking more and more that Hermes is a dotted house snake (maculatus) rather than a capensis (which I have to admit is what Erik Paterson thought he might be when I first showed him pics but I was unconvinced at the time as his back is so plain).
