Posted - 11/08/2013 : 19:03:55 I've got absolutely no pics, I'm afraid - but the males are green, and females brown, and the babies are brown, too. Similar to the ones here, I'd say. We used to catch them as kids, and play with them - but the warmer it gets, the harder they're to catch, so in summer there's no chance. |

Posted - 11/08/2013 : 14:01:59 Lovely pics - it's amazing, what these lizards can survive. We have very cold winters in the Czech republic, it can get to - 20 C easily, but in spring, the little wall lizards are out in force, no probs.
There are some near where I live herein Devon, in the woods. I NEVER see them out, I only know they're there, as I saw them when collecting bonsai. There was a dead hollow tree stump, it was early in the spring, and suddenly, all these little juvi lizards started popping up out of the stump, one by one. They have been hibernating together, and the sun brought them out :-) Didn't manage to get any pics, though. |

Posted - 11/08/2013 : 13:35:41 Glad you liked them! it took ages to get these shots as these are completely wild free roaming lizzies.Every time someone thumped past they would disappear back into the brush
there are now falconers that visit the gardens in the evening-to keep down the rats that would take the lizzies.
Every time we have a hard winter I worry about these little lizards-its always a great relief to see them out and about in the summer sun |
