Well I had a massive population explosion of springtails and they were harassing the poor snails so it was time to clean them out. Thought I'd share.

I bought them a black toy box and chopped a door into it for them, then buried it into the soil, somewhere for them to hide out.




And they are really starting to earn their giant status

They aren't normally too much of a problem but the population really exploded, they covered the snails, just all over them poor things. Though cleaning out the snails is a mammoth task, the soil is full of worms, I had to sieve all 30 litres of soil for them. Any ones I have missed will now be in my back garden helping the soil out there.

They are coming along nicely.
I didn't think the springtails would have been such a problem.

My cousin is considering them for her grand-daughter. She's taken to caring for the common snails in her garden.
