It was totally unexpected. I'd tried to feed her the previous day and the roach ran and hid under the kitchen paper. Came down the next morning and she was sitting on the paper looking frustrated while the roach was still hidden lol,so I decided to remove her and then the roach. The roach got out of my hand, she spotted it and jumped onto my arm to catch it lol. I've not been bitten or impaled by her yet thank God,I can't imagine it being pleasant though!

Lol EmSquem, its funny how people see things differently. I think she's a major cutie

I'd say to anyone tempted with one to get one. I've ummed and ahhed for years and now wish I'd got one sooner lol.

@Thorne Walker - The difficulty of care depends on the species. Ninja is a Congo Green, one of the recommended beginners ones and she's really easy to look after. She's in a plastic pint pot with one twig,a strip of kitchen roll on one side, netting on the top held on with an elastic band and moist kitchen roll on the floor. Simpler the better as the mantis can find its food easier and is less prone to moulting issues. I feed her twice a week and spray her cup every one to two days. She's not adult yet so still has some growing to do,although she's over doubled in size since I got her in May
