Posted - 04/06/2012 : 20:30:45 Aaah! Fine with the lamp guard. It was due to my optically challenged peepers and in the mirage it looked like there was a 4" gap to the top panel.
Need to find one of those egg beater hair braiding gizmos that were advertised a while ago. Repurpose and go into large scale snake toy production. |

Posted - 04/06/2012 : 18:52:10 heehee, i find that sort of thing relaxing so it'll be ok if it takes forever |

Posted - 04/06/2012 : 18:50:24 Not sure what you are going to do with yours but if you braid it like mine be prepared for it to take some time, mine took about 2 1/2 hours to complete but that may be down to me being male and never braiding anything before ;) |

Posted - 04/06/2012 : 16:20:18 Blue 'thing' from an aquatics place amongst the logs (although I did try outerspace but they did not have what I was looking for) Braided rope took me about 2 1/2 hours to braid last night, all 50' of it The guard is a top fixing one so there is no BBQ for me (or snakey) tonight I had to modify it to fit my side mounting ceramic fitting but it worked out in the end

Posted - 04/06/2012 : 15:56:58 Love the curly theme you have going on there. Did you raid the Alien set for the blue ... thing?
Your twirly rope swing just reminded me of a couple of braided plant-pot hangers lying in a cupboard. I knew they would come in handy eventually.
Hmmm! Just be careful of the side mounted lamp guard. It could be too accessible and would act like a BBQ grill. The temps above the lamp can get substantially hotter than the statted basking area below at ground level. I've noticed pretty high temps even on the outside of the top panel above the lamp. If you can't roof mount it, at least consider blocking it off with mesh or board. |
