Posted - 06/04/2012 : 13:35:47 Had these 2 for around 18 months now (I think?) and I'm very pleased with how they are doing. Between the 2 of them they have enough attitude to fill a retic and are very arborial, spending around 80% of their time in the branches. Awesome snakes to own.
Both had to come out today for some viv maintenance so grabbed the opportunity to take some pictures.
First is Meg, a 2009 female bred by Ian Kerr. This is her in a 32ltr underbed storage box with my Iphone in their for comparison. She has a very, very strong feeding response and will eat anything you put in front of her. I know she can take bigger prey (this is a small rat weaner) but it's all I have left atm, I'm waiting on an order.
And this is Hercules, a 2009 male. He is a pain because he will only eat mice, but I'm not giving up on converting him. He is all bluff, with strike from a distance but once you get a hand on him he just hisses like something from Jurassic Park, then sits quiet as a lamb whilst you shove the camera in his face. This is him in a 9 ltr RUB....

Posted - 06/04/2012 : 22:51:02 Hee hee, never underestimate the attitude of a Hogg, but it just makes their personality twice as large too. Thats a lovely pair of Hoggs too, specially the female she is very close to the colouration found in the wild, they will make some beautiful little snappers when the time comes. |
