I wonder how close Mirkey will get to something like that? I can see fun days ahead in a couple of years.
At the moment he's about 4+ feet, 400g but don't know what age he is. I've taken a guess at around 2 ~ 3 years old. I'm not even sure of actual gender, not that it really matters just now.

thats one chunky rat snake, very nice

I think that 7 feet is at the extreme size range with the record being 8 feet. From what I've been able to dig up, 6 feet is nearer the average.

I found this one on YouTube, impressive beasty.

cool videos an a lovely snake. am i right in thinking the grey and black rat snakes can reach 7ft?

I think it was due more to lack of confidence of the handler being detected making him feel insecure and defensive rather than aggressive. We got over the rattling, tagging and head-slaps within half an hour and he has since turned into a real character aas you can see in the wrestling movies.

all good then. was given jeff as he was jumpy an unpredictable when i was given him only tagged me once but has calmed right down now an is a soft as my big corn phoenix. still goes into strike pose an rattles his tail when i go in the viv but its all show

In a word. Brilliant!

He was a SSPCA rehomer with a bit of a bad reputation but we came to an agreement after slugging it out for a couple of days. Now he's a puddy-tat eating out of my hand. When I do the daily snake round he wraps around my neck and sits there enjoying the view as I potter about.

I posted a compilation of mini-movies of us arm wrestling here: Rounds 1&2.

We are such good buddies that he gave me a 'kiss' to show that there were no hard feelings at the end of the rough and tumble.
