I'm loving the new tank and so are they judging by the photos!! Ours used to love the frozen stuff. It's everso easy to get, just go to anywhere that sells tropical fish. Yours might not like shrimps but they were ours favs without a doubt! I could have spent hours and hours watching ours, they're fascinating little creatures.
frai Posted - 02/07/2010 : 22:45:56
i was going to put the hermit crab pellets in the water so it would break up. if i can get a small bag then i might lol never thought about shrimps will the eat all fish i.e prawns. thanks for all your help any more help would be great. do you think the new tank is ok for them now?
herriotfan Posted - 02/07/2010 : 19:46:21
P.S Defrost the frozen food in a bit of warm water prior to feeding.
herriotfan Posted - 02/07/2010 : 19:40:33
They like the frozen blocks of food. They'll enjoy the bloodworms. If you can get some shrimps they really love those!! Not too sure about hermit crab pellets. Maybe ok as an odd treat but might be a bit too dry? Only way to find out is try some and see, but they'll never be as good as frozen stuff.

they are cute. the new tank is much better they are alot happyer the male is almost always on the land bit and the female is on almost always on the slant under the plant so they seem to be happy. going to get them some bloodworm tomorrow they will love that. if anyone knows could i feed them hermit crab pellets? dont know about going crabbing lol dont think they would like it. but we all could meet up at the beach and go lol
Sta~ple Posted - 02/07/2010 : 16:44:56
So cute! What do they eat? Please you have to go crabbing! lol the crabs get a snack out of it and you get to catch crabs although it's probably not as amusing when they are your pets as appossed to doing it off sea side pier's.
herriotfan Posted - 02/07/2010 : 16:38:14
That's much better!!

i would love soom, they look really cool, but i don't think any shops near me would have any lol
plus i would have to find room lol
frai Posted - 01/07/2010 : 18:44:00
yeah i've been told that they can get out so i've put them in tank that has a tighter lid lol cucumber i never thought of that i will give it a go lol yeah i've got two and they are dead funny to watch together lol think of getting more:)
herriotfan Posted - 01/07/2010 : 17:43:52
Make sure they cant climb up and escape...we had one who was always getting out no matter what we did! Also they shed and leave behind an empty shell, you'll think you've gained an extra crab if you're not prepared for it.
Ours used to love a bit of cucumber now and again.
They are funny to watch, especially if there's more than one wanting to sit in the same place.
frai Posted - 01/07/2010 : 13:36:57
no they did not. how come pet shops of any kind never tell you the whole story. yeah i can drop the water a little bit and get some wood for them to bask on. they are cool, they are always up to something lol
herriotfan Posted - 01/07/2010 : 01:21:26
Have you got some room at the top for them to get out of the water and bask? Bet the pet/aquatic place didn't tell you they need to bask did they? They're really cool little guys.
