My hubby is building a viv for a bearded dragon,but he'll need to seal the wood.whats best to use thats safe for the beardie and wont give of fumes from the heat

thanks everyone for your suggestions
i was the cold blooded shop today and got chatting to a guy who builds vivs and he uses yacht sealant!he said as long as i leave it all open and air it well it will be fine.
sounds a bit random to me but hey ho you live and learn

if its for the joints in the wood, then I use acrylic sealant in my vivs, its a lot less 'smelly' than silicone and water soluble before it cures so I'm guessing less toxic before it sets?

Ah yes they are I have no idea to be honest about sealing a lot of wood. If you use melamine you won't need to seal it though as the finish is already water proof.

sorry if i'm being dim are they just for sealing the joins though?he needs something to coat the wood so it doesn't absorb any fluid.

Aquarium seal will also work.

a silicone sealant should be fine, best to read the label it should say that its none toxic. hope this helps.
