not really an "other reptile or exotic" but wasnt sure where to post this.

Fed my ferrets yesterday morning as normal and everything was fine. Went out most of the day and he back in the afternoon. Went to go feed them their dinner and one of them had a fat neck, at first i started talking to him (im not a weirdo lol) saying "you fat boy" and then i thought hang on no that wasnt there this morning. It was an abscess. So we went to the vet, they didnt want to drain it there and then as it was on his neck. So she gave him an antibiotic injection and a course of oral antibiotics. She said if it doesnt "pop" by friday, he will have to be put under anaesthetic and drain it that way.

Luckily i woke up this morning to a pint, it really seemed like that much very gross, of pus all over his blanket and him. Which is good news, hes going back to the vet friday to make sure everythings ok and its not infected. Keeping everything clean and giving him his antibiotics. So very relieved! and it only cost £12 for seeing the vet, the injection and the antibiotics..which is great as i thought i would end up with a huge bill if he had to have the op.

thanks everyone. Hes doing really well, eating, sleeping as if nothings happened lol

the smell was awful! and he does not like the antibiotics at all, i gave him his daily dose this afternoon and he freaked out!

everyone at the vets couldnt get over him, my ferrets are the tamest ferrets ever...and that probs is true lol you can do anything to them and they dont bite. i walked in to the vets without a box or his lead (was in a rush and couldnt remember where i put them) and he spent the whole time just lying in my arms...everyone was asking what it was lol

got a pic of the man himself with his duckie aswell (he loves that thing lol)

the vet seemed to think maye him and his brother were playing and cause a wound under his chin which caused the abscess, so hes in the living room with my mum now lol

got some pics, which show it this morning, all covered in pus after it "popped"
look away if you dont want to see it lol
