Posted - 16/07/2009 : 20:31:30 Seeing as dans the only one i know on here who has one ill direct questions at u lol could u tell my what set up you have for your blue tongue? going to pic up some stuff on sunday so ive got a tank with half wood chips and gonna get some sort of substr for the other half (any suggestions?) another heat mat a basking bulb (what wattage?) a uva or uvb bulb? which one is needed or should i just try get a full uv spectrum bulb(if thats what there called)
and was going to put a piece of slate with smoothed out edges under the bulb for basking? that do the trick? and a couple hides and some vitamin powder for ontop of his food
anything else needed? |

Posted - 17/07/2009 : 18:45:22 Very nice. He looks like an Indonesian, but im not 100%. And yea, theres a lot of conflicting info on wether they need the UV light or not. Best to be safe then sorry imo. |

Posted - 17/07/2009 : 18:34:19 thanks for the link ive been reading care sheets some say they do need the uv and some say they dont need it if they have enough food supplement or whatever same with feeding and stuff they seem to say diffrent things on diffrent sheets so not sure who to listen to lol |

Posted - 17/07/2009 : 18:17:52 My Blue Tongue is living in a 4ft Viv (will have to check dimensions) One end he has a 150W spot light controlled by a dimmer stat. The other end has a normal household bulb which is used only for light, but I dont use that one. I have a 10% Uv tube going along the length of the viv.
