I have gave advice about the retained shed one has, that was the easy part for me, then i asked what temps they were kept at and learned there was no stat, so i have given my spare and thermometer over. There is 2 of them in a fish tank, they get on ok, what i want know is the heat mat ok in the tank, or should it be under? something about royals being heavy and getting burnt lying on the mat?

Once they get bigger their heavier bodies can cause thermal blocking and they risk internal burns as well as external burns. But for now I'd be inclined to put it underneath, the glass in between the mat and the snakes might help diffuse the heat a bit.
