So the unthinkable has happened, Boots has escaped. We don't even know how, we had her out for a cuddle last night, viv was closed, and now she's gone. We've torn the lounge upside down but there are so many places she could have gone, we even ripped out the wooden mantle screwed to the wall and found several holes where she could have gotten into the walls or floor. It's an old house with so many tiny spaces. I'm gutted, she was a grumpy cow but I miss her. The lounge is covered in flour and there's pinkies in strategic places next to hides, a viv on the floor with a heat source and hides, and we're working on a bottle trap. I hope she shows up soon :(

You either cook chicken amazingly well or so bad that Storm needs to escape.

lol it was great

o.O Trying to eat knickers?!?

We haven't told the neighbours there's a snake on the loose. I'm not sure if we should or not. On the plus side, they would know she's harmless and who to tell if she turns up, on the downside it could cause a bit of panic and I imagine our landlord would be less than impressed if it got back to him :/

really daft suggestion but a missing snake I had ages ago (rusty) suddenly emerged when we lit a match - but dont start a fire!

My snake Worcester (thayers king) was let out by burglars and turned up six months later two houses down trying to eat knickers. He hadnt lost any weight and still looked good so just keep hoping

Don't give up yet! You hear stories all the time about people who have lost their snake for 6+months and have given up trying, and they just pop up out of nowhere. Snakes are hardy animals who can survive a long time without food or water, so just keep looking and hope for the best :)

No thanks, SBB sent me one from Storm, hasn't helped as yet :( Still no sign of her, I've put some more water bowls around for her along with a couple more traps but I think it's more so I feel like I'm trying rather than thinking they'll actually be effective.

Cola has shed and I can post the skin on if you think that would help?

Nope, nothing at all. Wafted mouse smell all over the room hoping to draw her out last night, but no sign of her.
tk72 Posted - 15/04/2014 : 08:36:09
Any sightings at all?

Its really great that you have such a helpful pet shop YEAH for Snake Dude lol
SilverWings Posted - 29/03/2014 : 10:52:48
Thanks for the offer, but I wouldn't ask you to put yourself out for me. I'll ask the pet shop, they're already saving lizard skin for me, can't see they'd have a problem saving me a snake skin.

Storm is in blue just now, if no sign of Boots, i could send the shed down?
Bit nasty, but someone could send you some poop too, anything is worth a try, cant really believe i am saying this lol, but since he is in blue i cant offer you any Storm poop!

I keep thinking about this - it's a very, very long shot - BUT: King snakes like eating other snakes, in nature... I know that when some people are setting bottle traps, they put in some used, smelly mouse bedding, too, to enhance the smell. I wonder, if setting bottle traps with used and pooped/ weed on snake bedding in them could possibly entice her out?

Long shot, as I said - but....

Otherwise, just lots of plastic bags on the floor, so you could hear the rustling, if she came out at night - worth a try, too...

Hope she turns up soon for you, fingers crossed.

Daw, sorry SBB, I'll stop posting :p Wait...

Don't worry Kellog, Diego is huge and a real fatty, there's no way he'll go down the holes we think Boots went down. Not only that, we've got lino floors in the lounge and he really struggles to move on it (probably because he's so fat and lacking in muscle tone). There's no way he's vanishing like she did XD
Kellog Posted - 28/03/2014 : 07:12:17
I've been keeping an eye on this thread, hoping Boots would turn up . Just a word of warning about using Diego to 'sniff her out'. Remember he can dart off really quickly and you don't want 2 missing snakes so please be extra careful.

I really hope you find her soon.

Xxx

Every time i see you have posted i really hope its good news

He's doing a fantastic job of being a sniffer snake but he hasn't turfed her out yet. I even put him in the sofa from underneath to see if she was holed up there, but no luck :/ He quite likes the lady hunting time though lol.
