Storm ALWAYS just goes around the outside his faun, he has worn a deep groove in the aspen, never wanders over the middle except to drink. He is active under the aspen as loads of tunnels, but on top of aspen , just round and round, except to stop and look at the cat when she is staring at him
(sadly he will never be big enough to eat it)

I know he's a corn, but Sheldon normally sticks to the outside edges too.

As above :-)
I remember reading somewhere that when a snake escapes, and you're looking for him and setting traps, do it around the walls of the room. They're not meant to like crossing open spaces, and generally stick to the walls when they move around, until they find shelter.
Storm's probably doing the same on a small scale :-) Clever boy!

lol

Not pulling any punches eh?

I think instinctively Storm knows that if he crosses in the open something will eat him so he either sticks to the edges or tunnels under.
