I have a question for those of you who own royal pythons...and it's unfortunately a poop question 
Our LSP is approximately 16 weeks old now, and around 18 inches long. So...how big should her poops be?
She has been doing tiny little ones since we got her, barely worth the trouble. I didn't think much of it, they seemed about the same size as my baby corns ones. A couple of weeks ago we sort of became aware she hadn't gone for a while and she looked a bit bulgy. I put her in the bath but nothing happened. She still looked bulgy a few days later so I bathed her again and massaged her this time, and after expelling a hard white mass she did the biggest poop ever, I'm talking about the same size as my 4ft female corn. Obviously she's far wider and chunkier than my corns, so for all I know this is normal considering her size, but the white mass leads me to believe she was blocked up? Any input would be appreciated, she's our first royal so I'm just not sure what's normal for them yet. |

Agreed doesnt sound excessive to me either ud be shocked the size the poops they do shadow will go almost 2 months without pooping sometimes and Arwen is averaging about once a month seems the bigger they get the less often the go and the bigger they become i send what Mort says about the labrador lol |

Doesn't sound like too much to worry about to me, My royal usualy only poos once evry 4-6 weeks, and yes they are massive! Like a small dogs poo it's vile lol. The white things are urates as mikerichards said, so nothing to worry about there. Mine usually does them in between poos as well. |

Yep royals hold it in for ages, then you think a Labrador has crept into their enclosure  I find mine wee's a fair bit but number two's are few and far between. At one point, when he was little he only poo'd after each shed. |

I wouldnt get yourself worked up about it, they can go quite a long time inbetween poo's, and yes, even for a small snake they can be quite large!
The white stuff is Urates, pee basically, again, nothing to worry about.
The main tell tale as to whether a royal is comfortable is its feeding, there is a lot of hype about royals being fussy feeders, and its mostly not true, royals have a very healthy appetite, but, if something is not right, they will not eat. So, if its eating, then thats a good sign.
As with most things, its worth keeping an eye on, but dont expect them to eat then poo like corns do, royals like to savour their food for a little longer! |

Does sound like she was blocked, I think they do pretty big poops to be honest :P |
