Posted - 04/10/2013 : 16:20:25 I've bought some crickets for my cresties. (Ick, hate bugs). I bought a cricket pen (the bigger one so that there would be lots of room for when cresties need bigger crickets) and all the repashy stuff (hydroload, superfeed and calcium plus).
The crickets are a lot smaller than I expected... I did buy very small as I thought then if the crickets grew whilst I had them they would still be useful. Whoops! They're about half the distance between my crested geckos eyes. That tells you just how tiny the crickets are as my geckos are only about 3g!
Will they still see them as prey? I guess if they don't I'll just have to let them grow and try again. |

Posted - 04/10/2013 : 21:14:14 No interest tonight Will try again in a few days I think. Perhaps they are just too small to bother with. They're teeny weeny tiny haha.
EDIT: scratch that! Jaffa has come through for me again! He did a proper little pounce onto one of them and gulped it down So cute and so chuffed I got to watch! Yay! I've not braved bugs for nothing, at least one of the cresties likes them! |

Posted - 04/10/2013 : 19:02:53 Oops, are they micro ones then? If so I'd put a dish cloth between the lid and the rim of the keeper to ensure they don't escape! I found with them it was a lot easier to put them in the fridge just before I wanted them. See what your cresties think to them, they might enjoy hunting them |
