Well yesterday It was feeding day for my reps. My Cali King was eating Large Mice, but they hardly leave any sign of being eaten.

So I decided to get a small rat and the smallest I could find that was just a little bigger than the large mouse, I'd usually offer.

Would she take it?
NOT A CHANCE.

She would just pull it around the rub, then start to eat and then spit it out. She would do this over and over. I'm convinced she doesn't like the taste.

The Rat was not to big, I'm 100% sure of it.
She's a CB10 and she eats the same prey size as my CB12 corn, so should have had no problems getting this rat in.

I know when I bought her in the S.W.A.R.E show in Newport, The breeder did say she had problems in the beginning with feeding. But since being with me she had eaten every feed offered. Except when in blue.

She's been 1 week since her last feed and with yesterdays refusal, do I go and get a Large mouse today and try again?

I concur most profusely with AB! I've found 'large mice' can be quite small- fortunately there is a DEFRA approved breeder of feeder rodents round the corner from me,If I ask for ex-breeders I get whoppers, maybe you could specify ex-breeders?
I wouldn't be in too much of a rush to get them on ratty's-for one thing they are dearer, and occasionally I have heard some folks have had problems getting a regular supply of the right size.one of my corns was raised entirely on rats-wont eat anything else
Where do your feeders come from? I was shocked to learn that a lot of them are shipped over from eastern europe or the u.s. and suffer defrosting/refreezing before our snakeys get them. Maybe the rat just didn't taste fresh to your snake?

It depends on what you define as 'large'. Some pet shops are now selling mice @ 20 gram as large. I get 30+ gram large and even bigger ex-breeders.
Is the rat a fuzzy (velvety suede type fur) or a small weaner with actual fur?
TBH, if it is eating mice and refusing rat then just stick to mice. Both Fester and Rattler are on mice and beefed up nicely. Even 'Wee" Woody the Corn has grown well on 20 gram mice.

Big T actually did a runner when I offered him a small weaner rat. Sometimes it is difficult to get them to change prey. If it is healthy and growing then I would leave it on what it is eating. Maybe you could ask the pet shop to get you some larger mice.
