Just a general update and questionaire for crestie owners..
Well so far Buck seems to have settled in nicely, he doesnt run away from me when i open the enclosure and go to handle him, he's inquisitive and a jumps really well even if his aim is off sometimes :P

My questions were though - if you offer repashy diet, how do you know if your gecko is eating it?
I havnt viewed him eating, but he seems to be toileting fine.

Also how often do you change the food?, im getting mixed views of 1-3 days.

Thanks.

Tried him again today, he just isnt into them. But im not to fussed, i know they can live soley on powder diet, but i was hoping as he is still a baby, to bulk him up he'd take the buggies :/
I think i'll leave him a bit thanks though SBB
He's 3 months old today :D
Will get some more pics soon MJ :)

Good on you for trying crickets if you don't like bugs. I hope he'll take them next time for you

Just dying to see some more piccies
scottishbluebird Posted - 10/09/2013 : 22:20:50
i had to order from roach colony, i have some that are still small if you even want to try just a couple of them.
ScaryVonHayleystine Posted - 10/09/2013 : 19:55:39
Cant get roaches close by to where i live as far as im aware. But thanks for the info SBB
scottishbluebird Posted - 10/09/2013 : 01:18:18
It took Fudge a few times to get interested in the crickets, personally i will never have crickets again the way they escape, seriously dubia roaches are soooooo better, dont bite, escape or jump
But well done on trying if you dont like bugs, i was the same and weirdly it was the roaches that freaked me more than the crickets lol now i have have adults since Fudge has gone off them just now, and they have now became pets that i am kinda fond of

I tried him on crickets today...Just ignored them...didnt seem to want them at all....i fought my fear of hating bugs in the house for him! and he ignored!

Glad to hear Buckley has settled well
I put only a thin layer of food in my dish - this allows me to see the licked areas.
I have also found that Ludo prefers his clarks diet over repashy and that he prefers the fig and banana clarks mixed together.

That sounds like he's doing great I'm so pleased for you. It's really useful to me having lots of people on here getting crested geckos as I'm getting one in two weeks time, they're asking all the questions so I can find out the answers
ScaryVonHayleystine Posted - 07/09/2013 : 18:10:41
Okies thank you :)
scottishbluebird Posted - 07/09/2013 : 18:07:29
If they are pooping, they are eating, or you can make it really thick, put fork lines through it, you will see the lick marks
i leave it 48 hrs
