Arya will not eat! After sansa chomped her hand, she has refused all food despite initially being the more confident of the two. any help lol?

So,so,sorry for you and her
They really don't do well with a 'natural'set upwhere they come from the lakes are Icy cold and deep,by contrast they are also now in irrigation ditches that are muddy and cold and shallow-not great to try and recreate in an aquaria
The name Ambystoma Mexicanum means Big Mouth or Big Hole from mexico.
I'm sure you've seem how they eat by gulping down a huge mouthful of water and sucking in the food with it.
Hows Sansa doing?is she full of spawn yet? She looked like a good sized healthy girlMaybe you can take heart in the fact that with a male Sansa will provide you with a host of little ones
When you're ready to start looking its worth trying to size match to avoid cannibalism..so sorry for you..,may be worth contacting a few Uni's they often have a colony in the biology dept, with some spares to be had

found the problenm... somehow she managed to get a 2cm wide stone in her mouth! but I only found out after she had passed away :( now I have removed all stones (bar giant ones) Ill have to have a look for a boy in the future for Sansa to help her with eggs etc.

Really devastated... didnt have her long :(

Oh dear-how warm are they at the moment?
When it gets too warm they can stop eating altogether, they then can get fungal/bacterial infections VERY easily.
Did Arya lose her hand or was it just a little chewed? If they become injured (lose bits)they can go off eating until they start to heal.
I seem to remember they were both female? are they now full of spawn?
Axolotls seem to do best at 16-18c,If you can put the injured one on her own in a COLD tank somewhere quiet, this will help her to heal quickly also a sudden drop in temperature with fresh water can encourage her to release any eggs-unfortunately they nearly always need a male to encourage them to do this.
I hope this helps-sorry I didn't get back to you sooner-feel free to email me if this helps
Try not to stress-it doesn't hurt a fat Axolotl to go off food-so long as they are cold they heal up fine and should start eating again soon
