Well I have been tagged by Aggie. Probably my own fault. She had pooped in her cold end and was sitting in her cold end. Normally I would take her out and pass her to Carl, my youngest son, for a while but he was still in bed. So I thought I would get her out and let her lay on my lap, legs while I changed the paper. Well I guess she felt insecure with this. She was fine until I went to pick her up and point her in the direction of her viv. She swung round and caught me by surprise. Only ever had a snake strike straight out in front before but she went round to the side almost doubling back over her back and caught my wrist. Only a couple of little marks and it didn't hurt at all, lucky considering she is getting large lady now, obviously just a warning that she was not happy. It was just the speed and precision she had. Its strange I can notice the difference in her strength week by week. She seems to be calling all the shots at the moment as to where she wants to go, its more of a guidance from me than a you will go where I want you to go. Its quite difficult to handle her at the moment. She likes to be supported obviously because of her weight and size but I can't put her over my shoulder as she constricts everything she can get her body on. I am hoping she will come to relax a little more when we have her out so we can drapes her over a shoulder. Would certainly make moving her around a lot easier.

We've had her out twice since this and she was fine. It just makes you realise what she is capable of and does make you wonder. I think we need to handle her more in the hope that she relaxes a little more when she out with us. She always seems quite tense and maybe a little insecure. Because of her size you tend to forget she is still a baby.

I would guess that she got agitated with all of the movement over her head (if what was going on is as I am imagining it) and then thought she would give you a bit of what for before she went back in her home. Hopefully she will be fine next time you have her out, I would just keep the movement around her head to a minimum.

sorry, wouldnt know how to rein in a bigger snake. Maybe big thick gloves, handle her, dont let her go where she wants to?
