I would like to get some silk and calci worms for little Jeff and was wondering who you all rate for the live food you buy?

Hi lupi lou I don't breed to supply just for my own use but I'm more than happy to send you some to try then you can decide whether you want to breed your own or not as they can work out expensive to buy, if you decide you do want to have a go at breeding your own (it's really simple) don't buy any eggs I can send you as many eggs as you want or enough silkies to get you started but first go onto the silkworm store site to check out the care sheet to get a general idea on what is involved.

I'd looked on there and was debating whether breeding would be worth it as the ones I have found are quite expensive, how often do you offer silk worms?
ozziesmum Posted - 11/05/2013 : 21:09:04
Silkworm suppliers are hard to find in the uk, the only ones I found were from http://www.silkwormstore.co.uk but since then I've bred my own which isn't hard to do just a bit fiddly but well worth it as a food source.

hmm I'll have a look at that one too! I've heard fab things about the calci worms even if they are very ugly!! Plus Jeff has decided that he doesn't like crickets anymore the little tinker! might have a look at their frozen food too

check out 'Livefoods by Post'here on Isle Of Wight-they are FAST and send all over u.k-they do calci worms,I've seen them YUK! They breed and supply other shops/retailers.
Just for interest they also have a very humane way of dispatching rodents-DEFRA have asked them about this because they would like their method used throughout u.k.

I usually just bob down to by local shop, but online I've used Rick's Livefood and Livefoods4U (on ebay) with no problems before
