Posted - 01/05/2013 : 14:09:52 Just got this guy yesterday and he is way cool! I had one of these in the States and they are definitely an awesome amphibian to own, full of personality! No name yet
His tank isn't normally this bare, I moved his cave and plant to offer food (which he took!) and took a few quick snaps in the process.

He's newly morphed, about the length of my pinky finger.
Oh and my Giant African Land Snail Dozer had a bath the other day. He loved it.

I used to have 4 snails in one tank when I was a kid so I know how much they breed! I remember having hundreds of them hatch and it was completely insane. I've been considering getting a snail again but just the one this time! |

Ok, thanks. I love the delicate colour of his shell.
He's what you call a Rodatzi, which is a recessive trait (I believe it's a recessive, genetic mutation anyway...) which basically gives the snail an "albino" colored shell. There's true albino rodatzis as well which as well as the shell the snail's body is albino. I'm hoping to pick up a nice one at Doncaster this June, although not to be housed together as they'd breed like mad. These land snails are hermaphrodites, so after mating both snails are capable of producing up to 200 eggs... and that's just insane.
I know I refer to this guy as a "he", but he's my bro... so that's that.
My friend has a Rodatzi and a true Albino Rodatzi As well as one the opposite way round to the Rodatzi and a Normal XD |
