Posted - 19/04/2013 : 08:59:29 As you may know, I've not got a Cali king belle. She is a beauty although, she gives off a terrible smell. I've tried washing her housing and hides. But the smell is still there. Any ideas folks?
Also I bought a large hide, which is not big enough for her. She's approximately 3ft, ideas for a temporary hide appreciated?
I was thinking cat litter tray with hole cut out ? |

Posted - 25/04/2013 : 14:52:45 I will have her checked. I think the smell is generally down to the snake. I think I'm just comparing her to my tiny corn. But she seems healthy and only excreting as normal. If it gets worse ill get her checked for worms, but I'm certain it's not that. I think she may be musking, as she has tail rattled last time I popped into her viv. |

Posted - 25/04/2013 : 14:28:05 My milk snake absolutely ponged to high heaven when I first got him and he was doing small frequent poops. Had his pooped checked and he had worms. Wormed him and the pong and frequent pooping stopped. His viv now smells nice and fresh. Just a thought. |

Posted - 24/04/2013 : 22:44:28 Is she ok? Have you seen her musk or anything? My king tends to musk and then some how rolls in it, makes the viv a bit pongy compared to the corns but I let him keep it that way lol. Not sure if musking a viv is something they normally do though. You checked the substrate? Maybe its cooking on the mat hehe. |

Posted - 19/04/2013 : 15:55:23 Oats so simple box, I like the way they close on the side. I've cut an access hole out for Baz ( I use it as a temporary hide ) - and if I need to get her out, I simply open the side :-) Ideal. |

What about a tissue box for a hide? Corno is just over 3ft but could fit in a decent size tissue box or slightly larger box - cereal box? Any old plant pots sitting around in the garden? |
