Posted - 01/04/2013 : 10:38:11 Haya guys just after some advice.
Im a bit worried about my 2 beardies as they went into shed about 2 weeks ago and still have retained shed i know they shed in stagfes but is this length of time normal? Saharah has some on he rbelly and legs and Gobi has majority of his tail still to go. Ive been giving them baths which helped a bit with Saharah today but having no effect on Gobi? I am currently without a UVB as i thought the bulb had blown so got a new one, but that doesnt work either so appears to be the unit..am looking for one online that will gety to me quickly if not will get one at shop in next few days. Ive been giving them calcium powder as normal and usual diet of crickets and veg and also been misting the viv..just wondering if ianything else i can do?
Thank you |

Posted - 03/04/2013 : 20:41:55 no circulation problem by the looks of it you just need to make sure there is no dead skin creating a full circuit around your reptile.orit could get tight and stop blood flow. but seriously mate trust me i work at a pet store use slightly salty water and gently remove lose shed. NEVER TRY TO FORCE IT OFF!!! |

Posted - 01/04/2013 : 23:47:30 use slightly salty water when you bath them. i wouldn't worry about it too much though just make sure the shed isn't causing any circulation problems. |

Ok thank you, im just worried after made mistake with RUbi and she lost her tail tip i dont want something to happen to them...gobis tail shed doesnt seem to be budging atall?
when I bathe BoomBoom and shes shedding, I use a baby milk tooth brush and gently massage the shedding areas (lightly). This seems to help (she loves her toes and her head getting done. SHe falls asleep in the bath lol). |
